Improvements to U.S. Highway 67 Require Lane Closure and Ramp Shift in Pulaski & Lonoke Counties

PULASKI & LONOKE COUNTIES (8-27) – Construction on U.S. Highway 67 in Pulaski and
Lonoke Counties requires a northbound lane closure and traffic shift onto newly constructed
ramp pavement at Exit 16A (State Highway 321), according to Arkansas Department of
Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

To continue with the highway widening, the outside lane of northbound traffic will be closed
between Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville and State Highway 5 in Cabot to allow crews
to move concrete barriers needed to establish a new exit ramp at Exit 16A. Weather
permitting; this lane closure and ramp traffic shift will occur Wednesday, August 29 at 8:00
p.m. to Thursday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m.

During the traffic shift operation, the northbound off-ramp at Exit 16A will be closed for a
short period to allow the contractor to re-align barrier walls and place pavement markings.
Off-ramp traffic to Highway 321 will utilize the State Highway 89 off ramp and circle back to
Highway 321 as needed. Traffic will be controlled using traffic barrels and message boards.
The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zones.

This project (Job CA0605) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes
widening 4.6 miles of U.S. Highway 67 from Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville to State
Highway 5 in Cabot. The highway is being widened to three lanes in each direction. More
