Repairs Require Alternating Lane Closures on Interstate 40 Near Lehi

CRITTENDEN COUNTY (9-20) – Repairs to an Interstate 40 overpass require alternating
lane closures on Interstate 40, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation
(ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will perform alternating lane closures of the inside and outside
eastbound lanes of I-40 near Mile Marker 267, beginning Sunday, September 23 between
the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The O’Neal Road
Overpass that carries local traffic over I-40 will remain closed throughout the work. The
closures will allow crews to repair damage to the O’Neal Road Overpass that resulted from
a previous accident.

Weather permitting, Monday, September 24, crews will close both eastbound lanes of
I-40 from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. between Exit 265 and Exit 271. Traffic will be detoured to
U.S. Highway 70.

The anticipated completion date is Thursday, October 11.

Traffic will be controlled with signage and traffic barrels. Drivers should exercise caution
when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel
