BENTON COUNTY (10-17) – Construction work requires an alternating lane closure on
I-49 in Bentonville, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, crews will put an alternating lane closure in place between New Hope
Rd. (Exit 83) and U.S. Highway 71B (Exit 85) on I-49. The closure will occur nightly from 9:00
p.m. to 6:00 a.m. starting on Wednesday night, October 17. Work on the new U.S. Highway
71B interchange will alternate between the southbound and northbound lanes and is
expected to take two weeks to complete.
Apac-Central, Inc. was awarded the U.S. Highway 71B Interchange Improvements contract
for $26,897,563.15.
Traffic will be controlled with signage and traffic barrels. Drivers should exercise caution
when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel
