Construction Requires Lane Closures on U.S. Hwy 70 in Garland and Saline Counties

GARLAND AND SALINE COUNTIES (6-12) – Pavement striping on U.S. Highway 70 requires
lane closures in Garland and Saline counties, according to Arkansas Department of
Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, eastbound lanes on U.S. Highway 70 will alternately be closed
Thursday, June 13 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Eastbound lanes in multiple areas will be
closed within a work zone beginning approximately 1.5 miles west of the Highway 70 Rest
Area in Garland County to a half mile west of Woodard Road in Saline County. At least one
eastbound lane of traffic will remain open during the overnight work.

Traffic will be controlled with signage and barrels, and limited lane shifts may be in effect.
This project (Job CA0610) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program that widened
17.5 miles of U.S. Highway 70 to four travel lanes and a continuous center turn lane. More
information on this project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work
zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You
