Improvements Require Lane Closures on Interstate 49 in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY (6-14) – Construction work on Interstate 49 in Bentonville and Rogers
requires nighttime lane closures, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation
(ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will be performing asphalt work on Interstate 49. The inside
lanes of northbound and southbound lanes will be closed between U.S. Highway 62/102
(Exit 86) and Central Avenue/State Highway 72 (Exit 88). These closures will occur between
9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday Night, June 18 and Wednesday Night, June 19.

Traffic will be controlled using signage and barrels. The public is advised to be cautious if
traveling in this work zone and are encouraged to find alternative routes to avoid the
interstate closure.

This project (Job CA0902) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and included
widening 3.5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. More information on this
project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work
zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You
