SALINE COUNTY (7-18) – Improvements to State Highway 5 require a series of lane closures
in Benton, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, the following closures will take place for paving operations:

• On and off ramps at the intersection of State Highway 5 and Westbound I-30 Frontage
  Road will be closed the morning of Saturday, July 27. Traffic on Westbound I-30
  Frontage Road will be detoured to the Sevier Street overpass for access to State
  Highways 5 and 35.
• Eastbound and Westbound lanes of State Highway 5 will have alternating lane
  closures on Saturday, July 27 between I-30 Frontage Road and State Highway 35.
• Eastbound and Westbound Lanes of State Highway 5 will have alternating closures
  beginning Monday, July 29 between State Highway 35 and Salt Creek Road. These
  closures will take place daily between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Estimated completion of this work is mid-August.

Traffic will be controlled with warning signs, flaggers, and message boards. Drivers should
exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
