Improvements Require Temporary Lane Closures on U.S. Highway 49 between Paragould and Jonesboro

CRAIGHEAD & GREENE COUNTIES (9-6) – Improvements to U.S. Highway 49 will require
temporary lane closures between Paragould in Greene County and Jonesboro in Craighead
County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will reduce traffic to a single lane in each direction for two
sections of U.S. Highway 49. These closures will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday,
September 8
and continue for approximately two weeks, or until work is completed.

  • U.S. Highway 49 between Craighead County Roads 792 and 762
  • U.S. Highway 49 between State Highway 69 and Greene County Road 761



Traffic will be controlled by signage and traffic barrels. Drivers should exercise caution when
approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information
