BENTON COUNTY (10-28) – Construction to build a new Bella Vista Bypass interchange with
U.S. Highway 71 in Bentonville requires overnight lane closures, according to Arkansas
Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, lanes on Interstate 49 and State Highway 549 (Bella Vista Bypass) will be
closed during overnight hours from Tuesday night, October 29 through Saturday morning,
November 2, from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Crews will be setting barrier wall within the
construction work zone.
- Northbound I-49 will close the outside lane north of the bridges over Slaughter Pen Road
to State Highway 549 (Exit 93). - Eastbound and Westbound State Highway 549 will alternately close the outside lanes
from the roundabout to the bridges over Peach Orchard Road.
Interstate traffic will be controlled with construction barrels and signage. The public is advised
to be cautious when traveling in the work zone.
This project (Job CA0903) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes
constructing approximately 2.8 miles of two-lane roadway with bridge structures on U.S.
Highway 549, including a new Bella Vista Bypass interchange with U.S. Highway 71 in
