Maintenance on U.S. Highway 64 Bridge Requires Alternating Lane Closures

SEBASTIAN COUNTY (10-28) – Deck patching on the U.S. Highway 64 Bridge (Garrison
Avenue) over the Arkansas River between Fort Smith and Oklahoma requires alternating
lane closures, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will close the westbound outside lane beginning Wednesday,
October 30
and will move to other lanes as work progresses. The alternating lane closures
will occur between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day, Mondays through Thursdays, until
late November.

Traffic will be controlled by traffic barrels and signage. Drivers should exercise caution when
approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information
