CRITTENDEN COUNTY (4-17) – Maintenance Work on Interstate 40/55 in West Memphis
will require temporary lane closures, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation
(ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, crews will perform pavement repairs on the combined section of
Interstates 40 and 55 from the Highway 38 interchanges (Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive) and
continuing westward to the where the routes split, with I-55 continuing northward and I-40
continuing westward.
This work will start on Monday, April 20 and continue through early May, with the following
specifics about lane closures:
- April 20 – May 1 eastbound lanes will be impacted 24 hours a day Monday – Friday
- May 4 – May 8 westbound lanes will be impacted 24 hours a day Monday – Friday.
Traffic will be controlled by signage and traffic barrels. Drivers should exercise caution when
