CRAIGHEAD COUNTY (8-4) – Construction of a rural roundabout at the intersection of
Harrisburg Road (Highway 163) and East Lawson Road (Highway 158) in Jonesboro will
require temporary lane closures and traffic shifts, according to Arkansas Department of
Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will begin work this week and continue until the project is
complete (expected to be in 2021). Motorists can expect to experience lane closures and
traffic shifts as the work progresses.

The contract for this work was awarded to Asphalt Producers, LLC in February 2020 for the
amount of $1,587,045.46 and requires items of earthwork, drainage, asphalt, concrete,
lighting, and other items of construction to complete the project.

Traffic will be controlled by traffic barrels, flaggers and signage. Drivers should exercise
caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel
