SEBASTIAN COUNTY (8-13) – Improvements to the Highway 71 bridge over Prairie Creek
require alternating lane closures in Sebastian County, according to Arkansas Department of
Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, crews will alternatingly close a single lane of southbound traffic on the
Highway 71 bridge over Prairie Creek (approximately one mile south of the Highway 549
interchange) from midnight on Thursday, August 13 and continuing for approximately
3 weeks. This closure will allow crews to rehabilitate the pavement on the bridge deck and
improve the guardrail.
Traffic will be controlled by traffic barrels, barricades and signage. Drivers should exercise
caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel
information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on
