Improvements to Intersection of Harrisburg Road and East Lawson Road Mean Changing Traffic Pattern in Jonesboro

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY (2-26) – Improvements to the intersection of Harrisburg Road (Highway 163) and East Lawson Road (Highway 158) mean changing the traffic pattern in Jonesboro, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will install stop signs on Harrisburg Road (Highway 163) at the intersection of East Lawson Road (Highway 158) on Wednesday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m. These stop signs will be installed for both north and southbound travel lanes and will create a four-way stop intersection at this location.

All roadway laws for a 4-way stop intersection will apply once these stop signs have been installed. These will remain in place until the rural roundabout is constructed and traffic is switched into the roundabout configuration, which is expected to be about two months.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @IDriveArkansas for traffic and @myARDOT for everything else.
