Pavement Preservation Work on Highway 67 Needs Lane Closures in Hope

HEMPSTEAD COUNTY (4-22) – Pavement preservation work on Highway 67 will need lane closures in the city of Hope, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will alternatingly reduce traffic to a single lane and close city street intersections with East 3rd Street (Highway 67) within the city limits (between Highways 73 and 174). These closures will allow crews to limit the points of entry into the construction zone and will start Thursday, April 22 and continue daily for approximately two weeks.

This project is to mill, inlay and overlay approximately 11.8 miles of Highway 67 in Hempstead County. This contract was awarded to Redstone Construction Group, Inc. of Little Rock, Arkansas for $3,784,931.27 in July 2020. The estimated completion date for this work is mid-2021.

Traffic will be controlled by traffic cones and signage. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
