Lane Closure on Interstate 40 Allows for Improvements to Old Highway 25 Bridge

FAULKNER COUNTY (5-3) – Improvements to the bridge driving surface of the Old Highway 25 underpass structures require a lane closure on Interstate 40 in Conway, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, the contractor will close the outside westbound lane of I-40 at Mile Marker 124 beginning today, May 3. This is a 24-hour closure and will be in place until the work is complete, estimated to be early June. During this time, crews will perform hydro-demolition of the bridge driving surface, followed by a latex modified concrete overlay.

Due to width restrictions, wide loads wider than 14 feet traveling westbound need to take Exit 125 and use Highway 64 to Menifee.

Traffic drums and concrete barrier walls will control traffic. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @IDriveArkansas for traffic and @myARDOT for everything else.
