Asphalt Repairs Scheduled at I-30 Bridge over Highway 67/229 in Saline County

SALINE COUNTY (5-19) – Construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County requires asphalt repairs as needed this week on the I-30 westbound detour bridge at Highway 67/229 (Exit 114), according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

In order for construction crews to make pothole repairs at the bridge, the Arkansas State Police will use slow rolls within the work area Wednesday, May 19 through Friday, May 21, weather permitting. The repairs will be scheduled outside of rush hours and on an as-needed basis, taking 30 minutes or less. The repair work will be limited to the following start times:

  • A.M. – 2:00, 6:00, 10:00
  • P.M. – 2:00, 6:00, 10:00
  • *Friday overnight hours may include longer repair times

The Arkansas State Police will use its discretion whether traffic is directed to the Exit 114 off and on-ramps for a short period of time to avoid the work zone. Additional repair work is expected to be scheduled within the following week. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @IDriveArkansas for traffic and @myARDOT for everything else.
