Construction Requires Traffic Shift onto New Highway 412 Pavement in Lawrence and Greene Counties

LAWRENCE & GREENE COUNTIES (9-7) – Construction to widen Highway 412 in Lawrence and Greene Counties has progressed to the point that traffic will be shifted south onto newly constructed pavement, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will relocate two-lane traffic onto a new section of Highway 412 on Wednesday, September 8. This will allow construction work to continue on the north side of the highway. The traffic shift will begin approximately 2.5 miles east of the Highway 67 interchange in Lawrence County and continue approximately 1.5 miles east of the Cache River Bridge in Greene County.

Traffic will be controlled by construction barrels, signage, and pavement markings. Drivers should expect minimal delays during the traffic shift and exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.

This project (Job CA1003) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program to widen approximately 14.5 miles of Highway 412 to four lanes between Highway 67 in Lawrence County and Highway 141 in Greene County. The project includes a southern bypass of the Light community. More information on this project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @IDriveArkansas for traffic and @myARDOT for everything else.
