PULASKI COUNTY (9-7) – Construction work on Cantrell Road (Highway 10) means temporary lane closures on Interstate 430, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting; the contractor will conduct a nightly double lane closure on southbound I-430 Wednesday, September 8 through Saturday morning, September 11. The closure will occur from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning between Pleasant Valley Drive and the Arkansas River.
This closure will allow the contractor to install safety platforms on the existing Cantrell eastbound bridge in order to begin rehabilitating the bridge deck.
Additionally, the southbound I-430 double lane closure will extend across the Arkansas River to Highway 100 Friday night, September 10 at 8:00 p.m., until 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning. These River Bridge lane closures are for a separate job, number 061630, that is improving the Interstate, allowing the contractor for Job 061630 to overlay the first section of latex modified concrete (LMC) on the bridge.
Orange barrels, cones, message boards, and signage will control traffic. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @IDriveArkansas for traffic and @myARDOT for everything else.
