Overnight lane closures will be in place on Interstate 40 near Pottsville and Atkins from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 12. Lanes will be fully reopened by Thursday morning, October 13.

Improvements to the Interstate 40 overpasses near Exit 88 (Pottsville) and Exit 92 (Atkins) will result in the lane closures on I-40. Traffic will reduce to one lane so the contractor can remove the safety platforms beneath the overpasses used for the work completed last week.

ARDOT reminds drivers to slow down and minimize distractions when moving through a work zone. Using a phone in a work zone is unlawful and can result in citations and doubled fines.
