Traffic Pattern Changes at Three Intersections along Vandenberg Boulevard and N. 1st Street Scheduled in Jacksonville

PULASKI COUNTY | February 29, 2024

Construction to widen Highway 67 to six lanes between Main Street and Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville requires traffic pattern changes at three intersections along Vandenberg Boulevard and N. 1st Street now through Friday, March 8.

Temporary traffic signals will be installed and activated with pavement restriping occurring at the intersections of Vandenberg Boulevard and John Harden Drive, Vandenberg Boulevard and TP White Drive, and N. 1st Street and N. JP Wright Loop Road. This work will alternate between intersections over the two-week period.

Work to install and activate the temporary traffic signals will occur during daytime hours with crews working to avoid peak traffic hours. This work will require temporary lane closures and flagging operations. The public is encouraged to find alternate routes as traffic delays are expected.

Traffic will be controlled with traffic drums, flaggers, and signs. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0604) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 2.5 miles of Highway 67 to six lanes, between Main Street (Exit 9) and Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11) in Jacksonville. The project also includes improvements at the James Street interchange (Exit 10A), the Gregory Street Interchange (Exit 10B), the Vandenberg Boulevard interchange (Exit 11), and conversion of the Frontage roads from two-way to one-way. More information on this $145.2 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
