Traffic Shift and Ramp Closures Scheduled for I-30 Westbound in Saline County

SALINE COUNTY | March 6, 2024

Interstate 30 westbound traffic in Saline County will shift toward the median during overnight hours 10 p.m. Friday, March 8 through 6 a.m. Saturday, March 9. If weather conditions impact the work on Friday, March 8, it will be rescheduled to overnight hours Saturday, March 9.

Weather permitting, I-30 westbound traffic between Highway 67/229 (Exit 114) and Highway 70 (Exit 111) will move from the existing main lanes onto new pavement adjacent to the new eastbound lanes. Traffic can expect lane closures and slow roll operations during this traffic shift.

In addition, the I-30 westbound off- and on-ramps at Highway 67/229 (Exit 114) will be closed overnight to allow crews to shift traffic. Signed detours will be in place to navigate around the ramp closures. See detour map NR 24-074 for more information. Accommodations will be made to allow emergency vehicles to access closed ramps.

  • I-30 westbound off-ramp to Highway 67/229 (Exit 114). Exiting traffic will need to exit early at Exit 116 (South Street) in Benton and take Highway 229.
  • Highway 67/229 on-ramp to I-30 westbound. Traffic will use the interchange at I-30 and Highway 67/229 to take I-30 eastbound to Exit 116 (South Street) in Benton, use the South Street bridge to reach the northside frontage road, and return to I-30 westbound at the on-ramp. For northside frontage road traffic west of the Highway 67/229 interchange, traffic will head west to the Highway 70 interchange to access I-30 westbound.

All I-30 eastbound on- and off-ramps will remain open during this work.

Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
