SALINE COUNTY | April 18, 2024
Construction to widen Interstate 30 (I-30) to six lanes in Saline County requires two ramp closures at the I-30 East/Highway 70 interchange (Exit 111) during overnight hours Thursday night, April 18 and Friday night, April 19.
Weather permitting, crews will close both ramps to perform work on the new I-30 west bridge. In addition, Pawnee Drive underneath I-30 will be closed to through traffic. Crews will close the I-30 east ramp to Highway 70, the Highway 70 ramp to I-30 east, and Pawnee Drive underneath I-30 during the following times:
- 9 p.m. Thursday, April 18 through 5 a.m. Friday, April 19
- 10 p.m. Friday, April 19 through 6 a.m. Saturday, April 20
Traffic will not be able to use the ramps during the closures and traffic will need to follow the signed detours. See attached detour map NR 24-114-A. Local traffic will use Pawnee Drive adjacent streets to navigate around the closure.
- I-30 east to Highway 70 detour: Continue east on I-30 to Highway 67 south (Exit 114), take underpass on Highway 67 to the frontage road, return to I-30 west and Highway 70 (Exit 111).
- Highway 70 to I-30 east detour: Take ramp to I-30 west and Old Military Road (Exit 106), take overpass toward Highway 67 and return to I-30 East.
Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
