SALINE COUNTY | May 28, 2024
Construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County requires transitioning traffic onto two new entrance ramps to I-30 westbound at the Highway 67/229 interchange. The switch to the new ramps was originally scheduled to take place overnight Thursday, May 23 into Friday, May 24but had to be postponed due to weather; the traffic switch is now scheduled to take place overnight from 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 29.
As Highway 67/229 to I-30 westbound traffic moves onto the new ramp pavement, the I-30 westbound outside lane will be closed to help facilitate the switch. Flagging operations will be in place on Highway 67/229.
- Highway 67 north to I-30 west traffic will remain in the far-right lane and follow the ramp around to access I-30 west. See map NR 24-147-A for more information.
- Highway 229 south to I-30 west traffic will remain in the far-right lane and follow the ramp to access I-30 west. See map NR 24-147-A for more information.
The temporary frontage road entrance ramp to I-30 westbound, located west of Highway 67/229, will remain open until traffic has been fully switched to the new ramps. It will then be permanently closed.
Traffic will be controlled with slow roll vehicles, flagging operations, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
