Increased Military Traffic on Highways and Interstates Expected Through June for Training Exercises

ALL COUNTIES | May 30, 2025

Motorists traveling on Arkansas Interstates and Highways should prepare for an uptick in military vehicle traffic beginning Friday, May 30, and continuing through the end of June as the National Guardmakes its way to and from annual training.

National Guard troops will be travelling from their respective armories to train at Fort Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center in Barling. These convoys consisting of large, tactical vehicles will travel at a slower speed than normal traffic. This may result in minor slowdowns, particularly at the rear of the convoy, where vehicles attempting to pass could cause temporary congestion.

Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and passing military traffic. Check IDriveArkansas.com for the latest traffic conditions.
