The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will conduct a Location and Design Public Hearing from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, September 7 to present and discuss the proposed design plans for widening Highway 65B from Highway 64 to Bruce Street in Conway.
The hearing will be held at the Conway Parks & Recreation, Don Owens Sports Center, 10 Lower Ridge Road in Conway, AR.
The proposed project involves widening the existing four-lane section from 10.5-foot-wide travel lanes to 11-foot-wide travel lanes, adding a 12-foot-wide center turn lane, curb, and gutter, with 5-foot-wide sidewalks on either side of the roadway. The project also includes installing a storm sewer system to address flooding issues, updating the existing signal at the intersection of 6th Street and Highway 65B, and realigning and adding a traffic signal to the intersection of College Avenue/3rd Street and Highway 65B.
Information about the project will be available and comments will be accepted Thursday, September 7, through 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 22.
