Construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County requires two travel lane closures at the Highway 67/229 and I-30 interchange during overnight hours Thursday, September 7 in Benton.

Weather permitting, crews will close the following lanes between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m:

Highway 67 on-ramp to I-30 eastbound
This closure will allow crews to reconfigure access from Highway 67 to the ramp. After reconfiguration, Highway 67 southbound traffic accessing the I-30 on-ramp will yield to Highway 67 northbound ramp traffic rather than coming to a complete stop. Traffic will be unable to use the I-30 eastbound on-ramp during this closure and will need to follow the signed detours. See attached detour map NR 23-303-A. The detour is as follows:

• West on Frontage Rd (north of I-30)
• West on I-30 to Exit 106 (Old Military Road)
• South on overpass toward I-30 east on-ramp
• East on I-30

Flagging operations on Highway 229 southbound
This flagging operation will be between W. Jackman Trail and the north frontage road. This will allow crews to install signs and stripe the road for a new right-turn lane. Expect minor delays in travel time.

Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, signage, and flagging operations. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116).
