The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) is proposing slide repairs on Highway 215 approximately 0.7 mile west of Highway 103 in Johnson County. Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act of 1966 protects public parks, recreation areas, wildlife refuges, and historic sites from being harmed by transportation projects. Section 4(f) protections are applicable for the Mulberry River because it is publicly accessible, publicly owned, managed for recreation, and a significant recreational facility for the region and state.
A website with information regarding the Draft Section 4(f) evaluation is available for public viewing and comments.
The public may view meeting materials and provide written comments online beginning Wednesday, September 20.
Comments will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. Thursday, October 5.
