BAXTER COUNTY | September 22, 2023

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is scheduling a full road closure for Highway 177 across Norfork Dam from 6:30 a.m. September 25 until 5 p.m. September 30 to deploy equipment used to perform routine maintenance on the dam.  

The closure is being coordinated with emergency services and law enforcement agencies.  

Please plan an alternate route through this area during the road closure. Travel to locations on Highway 177 past the Norfork closure will require a detour using Highway 5 through Norfork, then Baxter County Road #64 north back to Highway 177 at Jordan. Northbound travelers on Highway 177 will need to take the detour around the dam on Baxter County Road #64 south from Jordan to Highway 5 south of Norfork.
