COLUMBIA COUNTY | October 4, 2023

A full road closure is scheduled on Highway 79 at its intersection with Highway 98 near McNeil beginning Monday, October 9 as Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) crews make repairs to tracks at the intersection.

The closure is scheduled to last approximately three weeks as crews conduct hydro demolition and a modified concrete overlay of the UPRR overpass. Traffic will be detoured onto Highways 98 and 98B through McNeil. A detour of the work zone can be found here.

Traffic will be controlled with the use of barrels, message boards, and signage.

Drivers are urged to use caution while traveling in the area.
