Daily lane closures are scheduled on the Highway 64 Bridge (Midland Blvd.) over the Arkansas River in Fort Smith for a routine inspection the week of May 8.

Weather permitting, the bridge inspection will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 8 through Thursday, May 11.  Inspection crews will begin inspecting the eastbound side on May 8. They will begin inspecting the westbound side on May 10. At least one lane in each direction will remain open for travel.

Traffic will encounter signage and orange cones as they enter the work zone. ARDOT reminds drivers to slow down and minimize distractions when moving through a work zone. Using a phone in a work zone is unlawful and can result in citations and doubled fines.
