The New Highway 89 Overpass is expected to open, and traffic will be shifted to the new alignment of Highway 89, on Thursday, May 25.

Once traffic is shifted, motorists will encounter new traffic patterns while traveling along the new alignment. Directional signs will be in place in advance of each intersection along the new alignment to direct motorists. Please note that a temporary detour will be used for westbound traffic traveling on Highway 89 and entering Interstate 40 eastbound.

The change will allow construction crews to remove the existing Highway 89 bridge and complete the remainder of the intersection improvements included in the project.

Weather permitting, construction crews expect the remaining work to be completed in late June.
