Routine Bridge Inspection Requires Lane Closures on I-40 in West Memphis

CRITTENDEN COUNTY (9-17) – A routine bridge inspection requires temporary lane
closures on the Interstate 40 Mississippi River Bridge between West Memphis and Memphis,
according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will put in place the following lane closures:

  • Outside westbound lane from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18 and Wednesday, September 19.
  • Outside eastbound lane from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19 and Thursday, September 20.



Traffic will be controlled with signage and traffic cones. Drivers should exercise caution
when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel
