Construction on Interstate 49 Requires Overnight Lane Closures in Washington Co

WASHINGTON COUNTY (9-24) – Construction on the Interstate 49 shoulder in Johnson and
Springdale requires nighttime lane closures, according to Arkansas Department of
Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will remove temporary barrier walls on the inside shoulders of
northbound and southbound Interstate 49 north of the Clear Creek bridge. The inside lane
will be closed between Mile Markers 68 and 70 to perform the work.

The overnight lane closures will be in effect Wednesday night, September 26 through
Thursday morning, September 27. The northbound inside lane will be closed between
8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., and the southbound inside lane will be closed between 9:00 p.m.
and 7:00 a.m
. Traffic will be controlled using signage and barrels.
