HEMPSTEAD, NEVADA & CLARK COUNTIES (02-05) – Construction work to rehabilitate
Interstate 30 between Emmet and the Gurdon Rest Area will require lane closures, according
to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, one lane of I-30 eastbound will be closed beginning west of the State
Highway 299 (Exit 36) overpass and continuing east, reducing traffic to one open lane. The
lane closures will begin Monday morning, February 11 at 12:00 a.m. through 10:00 a.m.
to permit crews to erect safety platforms over I-30 for bridge overpass work. Lane closures
will continue each night Sunday through Saturday from 8:00 p.m. through 10:00 a.m. as
crews continue east with erection of safety platforms at overpasses between State Highway
299 (Exit 36) and State Highway 19 (Exit 46) before returning westbound.
This project to mill and overlay 19.3 miles on I-30 in Hempstead, Nevada and Clark Counties
was awarded to Redstone Construction Group, Inc. in September 2018 for $39,017,512.83.
The project includes shoulder rehabilitation and bridge rehabilitation work on twelve
interstate bridges and four overpass bridges. It is estimated the project will be substantially
complete in June 2020.
Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work
zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You
