Maintenance Work Requires Temporary Closure of State Highway 51 in Arkadelphia

CLARK COUNTY (3-15) – Maintenance work will require the temporary closure of State
Highway 51 in Arkadelphia, according to officials from the Arkansas Department of
Transportation (ARDOT).

Weather permitting; crews will close State Highway 51 (Pine St.) between 15th St. and 16th
St. in Arkadelphia starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18 through 5:00 p.m. on
Thursday, March 21. This closure will allow crews to replace a cross drain. Local traffic will
be allowed to enter the work zone.

Commercial vehicle traffic entering Arkadelphia from State Highway 8 will be detoured
down State Highway 51 towards Okolona. Commercial vehicle traffic entering Arkadelphia
from State Highway 7 will be detoured north to Caddo Valley or they can turn south along
U.S. Highway 67 towards Gum Springs.

Traffic will be controlled with signage and traffic barrels. Drivers should exercise caution
when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel
