CROSS COUNTY (7-31) – Railroad maintenance requires closure of U.S. Highway 49 near
Fair Oaks, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, Union Pacific Railroad will close U.S. Highway 49 in Fair Oaks,
approximately ¾ miles south of U.S. Highway 64, to perform railroad maintenance. The
closure will begin at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3 and continue through 7:00 a.m.
Wednesday, August 7.

Traffic will be detoured with signage and barricades. Drivers should exercise caution when
approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information
