Routine Bridge Inspection Requires Temporary Closure of Rushing Road

POPE COUNTY (11-18) – A routine bridge inspection of the Rushing Road (Pope County
Road 12) bridge over Piney Creek requires a temporary lane closure in Pope County,
according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will close the Rushing Road bridge over Piney Creek from 8:30
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19.
This closure is 5.6 miles northwest of the
junction of State Highway 7 with Rushing Road and will allow crews to inspect the one-lane
bridge with equipment designed to inspect the underside of bridge (often referred to as a
snooper). Drivers should plan ahead and consider alternate routes for the duration of this
closure.

Traffic will be controlled by traffic barrels and signage. Drivers should exercise caution when
approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information
can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter
