Improvements to Interstate 40 Means Overnight Lane Closures between Atkins and Blackwell

POPE AND CONWAY COUNTIES (4-5) – Resurfacing Interstate 40 between Atkins and Plumerville means overnight lane closures, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will alternatingly close the outside lane and shoulder or the inside lane and shoulder between Atkins (Exit 94) and Blackwell (Exit 101) from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. starting on Monday, April 5. Work will begin in the eastbound lanes and then progress to the westbound lanes. These overnight closures are expected to be needed for approximately 6 weeks.

Traffic will be controlled by portable message boards, traffic drums, and signage. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
