Maintenance Work for Highway 42 Bridge Needs Temporary Closures and Detours in Cross County

CROSS COUNTY (8-13) – Maintenance work on a Highway 42 Bridge over a drainage ditch needs temporary closure of Highway 42 between Hickory Ridge and Cherry Valley, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting; the crews will close Highway 42 between County Road 119 and County Road 139 (local traffic allowed) from 7:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, through 5:30 p.m. Friday, August 20.

Through traffic on Highway 42 from Cherry Valley will be detoured north on County Road 119 and then west on County Road 110 to Highway 49. Through traffic  from Hickory Ridge will be detoured north on Highway 49 to County Road 110 and then east on County Road 119 before returning to Highway 42.
