New Traffic Patterns Scheduled on John Harden Drive in Jacksonville

Construction to widen Highway 67 to six lanes between Main Street and Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville requires new a traffic pattern between Vandenberg Boulevard and N. James Street; the traffic pattern switch will happen between 8 p.m. Monday, March 25 and 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 26.

Weather permitting, crews will shift John Harden Drive traffic onto new pavement adjacent to the existing frontage road. In addition, the on-ramp to Highway 67 south of Vandenberg Boulevard will be permanently closed. Traffic wishing to access Highway 67 southbound will follow the signed detours along John Harden Drive and take the Gregory Street on-ramp. In addition, the Texas U-Turn from John Harden Drive to TP White Drive at W. Main Street will be closed from 8 a.m. Monday, March 25 through 5 p.m. Monday, April 1.

Traffic will be controlled with traffic drums, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours. 

This project (Job CA0604) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 2.5 miles of Highway 67 to six lanes, between Main Street (Exit 9) and Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11) in Jacksonville. The project also includes improvements at the James Street interchange (Exit 10A), the Gregory Street Interchange (Exit 10B), the Vandenberg Boulevard interchange (Exit 11), and conversion of the Frontage roads from two-way to one-way.
