CONWAY COUNTY | August 5, 2024

The public is invited to join members of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Arkansas Highway Commission, Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials, elected officials, and local dignitaries at 11 a.m. Monday, August 12 in Morrilton for a groundbreaking ceremony marking the beginning of construction to relocate 2.4 miles of Highway 113.

The groundbreaking event will be held at the Green Bay Packaging, Inc. soccer field. The soccer field is located across the street from: Green Bay Packaging, Inc., Arkansas Kraft Division, 338 Highway 113, Morrilton, AR.

This project was made possible because of a partnering agreement that included the Governor, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, the Arkansas Highway Commission, Green Bay Packaging, the City of Morrilton, and Faulkner, Conway, Johnson, Pope, Saline, and White counties.

“This partnering project emphasizes how much progress can be made when we all work together,” said ARDOT Director Lorie Tudor. “It is unique in that such a large number of partners participating.”

The relocated roadway will have two, 12-foot travel lanes with six-foot paved shoulders.

This $9.7 million project was awarded to McGeorge Contracting Company.  Work is scheduled to be complete by late 2025.
