Overnight Ramp Closures Scheduled at Four Consecutive I-30 Westbound Interchanges in Saline County

SALINE COUNTY | September 13, 2024

Multiple Interstate 30 (I-30) westbound on- and off-ramps at Benton, South and Sevier streets, Highway 67/229, and Highway 70 will be closed overnight Sunday, September 15 and Monday, September 16 in Saline County.

10 p.m. Sunday, September 15 through 6 a.m. Monday, September 16
Weather permitting, crews will alternately close the on- and off-ramps at three consecutive I-30 westbound interchanges between Benton and Highway 70 in Saline County. Only one ramp will be closed at a time. These closures will allow crews to prepare for the upcoming shift of main lane traffic onto new concrete pavement. Each ramp will have a rolling roadblock that will last for approximately an hour. Traffic may use alternate routes to navigate around the closures.

I-30 west ramps impacted by overnight alternating rolling roadblock closures:

  • On- and off-ramps at South Street (Exit 116)
  • On- and off-ramps at Highway 67/229 (Exit 114)
  • On- and off-ramps at Highway 70 (Exit 111)

9 p.m. Monday, September 16 through 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 17
Weather permitting, crews will close the on- and off-ramps at four consecutive I-30 westbound interchanges between Benton and Highway 70 in Saline County to allow crews to shift main lane traffic onto new concrete pavement. Traffic will follow signed detours to navigate around the ramp closures. Accommodations will be made to allow emergency vehicles to access closed ramps. See detour maps NR 24-292-A for on-ramp closures and NR 24-292-B for off-ramp closures.

Four I-30 westbound on-ramps will be closed during overnight hours starting September 16:

  • I-30 on-ramp at Benton (Exit 117). To access I-30 west, traffic will detour along the frontage road to Highway 67/229 south and follow it to the I-30 interchange at Exit 106.
  • I-30 on-ramp at South and Sevier streets (Exit 116). To access I-30 west, traffic will detour to Highway 67/229 south and follow it to the I-30 interchange at Exit 106.
  • Both I-30 on-ramps at Highway 67/229 (Exit 114). To access I-30 west, traffic will detour to Highway 67/229 south and follow it to the I-30 interchange at Exit 106.

Three I-30 westbound off-ramps will be closed during overnight hours starting September 16:

  • I-30 off-ramp at South and Sevier streets (Exit 116). To access South and Sevier streets, traffic will exit early at Benton (Exit 117).
  • I-30 off-ramp at Highway 67/229 (Exit 114). To access Highway 67/229, traffic will exit early at Benton (Exit 117).
  • I-30 off-ramp to Highway 70 (Exit 111). To access Highway 70, traffic will detour to I-30 Exit 106, return to I-30 east and take Exit 111.

All I-30 eastbound on- and off-ramps will remain open during this work.

Traffic will be controlled with message boards, slow roll roadblocks, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
