UPDATE: I-30 Construction in Saline County Requires Overnight Closures on Highway 67/229

SALINE COUNTY | June 22, 2023

Construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County requires overnight closures of Highway 67/229 below the I-30 bridge.

Weather permitting, crews will close Highway 67/229 below Interstate 30 at Haskell (Exit 114), between Pawnee Drive and the frontage road north of I-30 on the following dates:

  • 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 23 through 6 a.m. Saturday, June 24
  • 11 p.m. Saturday, June 24 through 9 a.m. Sunday, June 25
  • 9 p.m. Sunday, June 25 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 26
  • 9 p.m. Monday, June 26 through 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 27

This closure will allow for crews to hang steel bridge girders for the I-30 Bridge over Highway 67. Highway 67/229 traffic will be unable to travel below the interstate during this closure and will need to follow the signed detours. See attached detour map NR 23-206-A.

Traffic will be controlled with construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
